...we are a chorus comprised of women of all ages. We sing four-part harmony a cappella music. With our roots in the uniquely American art form of Barbershop Harmony, the Evergreen Chorus pleases listeners of all ages, with a cappella versions of timeless classics, jazz and blues, show, and contemporary songs!
Evergreen Chorus is a member chapter of Sweet Adelines International We rehearse in Poughkeepsie, New York and perform for groups and organizations all over the northeastern portion of New York State. Our members come from Dutchess, Ulster and Orange Counties and we belong to the Greater New York Region 15. During our regional competition, held April 4th and 5th, 2008, Evergreen Chorus was thrilled to bring home Fourth Place Medals and Third Place Mid-Sized chorus awards. In fact, Xclamation! is the 2008 Region 15 Third Place Medalist quartet!
Our Director is Carole Argulewicz. With the aid of her assistant directors Linnea Acton, Terri Hein and Sue Koppenhaver and the rest of her musical team; Carole provides vocal instruction and musical interpretation of our songs. In addition, we have a choreography team who work with Carole to ensure that the visual plan enhances the vocal performance. In other words - we dance as well as sing!
Membership:
We welcome singing women of all ages to come and join us. Evergreen Chorus is a non-profit educational organization and chapter of Sweet Adelines International. We constantly work at expanding and improving our singing and performing skills through our weekly practice sessions, private voice instruction, choreography rehearsals, and coaching. We pride ourselves in being a place where women who love to sing can come to not only sing, but to continue learning to express themselves through the craft of a cappella singing.

Evergreen Chorus has a wide repertoire of songs, ranging from show tunes, jazz arrangements, and ballads, to patriotic and holiday packages. We love to perform and with our close harmonies, animated singing and choreography, we entertain audiences of all ages. Evergreen Chorus is now booking performances for nights and weekends. Evergreen Chorus performs for both private groups and public events. Although not all of our performances are open to the public, many of Evergreen Chorus' upcoming performances are open to the public. Come out and hear us.
